POSITION: Chef Cook

OPENING DATE: Friday, June 28, 2023

CLOSING DATE: Friday, July 28, 2023, or until filled

WORK HOURS: Full-time, 48 hours/week

SALARY: To be determined

A Residence in Rabat is seeking an individual for the position of Chef Cook.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

 

Operates as the Cook Specialist and as such must be able to prepare dishes from family-style menus to large reception menus. Must possess imagination and innovation. Must be able to plan menus and cook meals at the sponsor's residence, according to recipes or tastes of Sponsor. Plans menus and orders foodstuffs. Must be able to perform seasonal cooking duties, such as preserving and canning fruits and vegetables, and making jellies. Must be able to prepare fancy dishes and pastries. May prepare food for special diets. Inspects kitchen equipment for cleanliness. Responsible of maintaining at the highest level the hygienic conditions of the kitchen, tools, kitchen appliances, fridges. May serve meals. The Chef Cook reports to the house manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

1. Graduate from a professional culinary program or equivalent.

2. Knowledge of international and Moroccan cuisines.

3. Minimum three years’ experience as a Cook.

4. Ability to develop menu and price options for a variety of events.

5. Basic knowledge of wine such as quantity required for a dinner of eight and ability to open bottles.

6. Professional fluency and ability to follow instructions and recipes in English or French and conversational Darija/Arabic.

7. Willingness to accept feedback.

8. Team player.

9. Legal proof of eligibility for employment (if non-Moroccan).
