Job Vacancies :IT, Facilities & Transport Manager
The British Embassy at Rabat is looking for an IT, Facilities & Transport Manager at our LEII level to join our busy and dynamic Corporate Services Team at a time of rapid change. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT system on a Network of six posts in Morocco and Mauritania.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Information Technology: 60%
Maintaining and supporting equipment and infrastructure of the Embassy’s main IT system and business applications;
Liaise with change delivery team as Information Management Officer for Morocco Network.
Administrating and maintaining the Embassy’s standalone machines and local area networks;
Providing a focal point for IT users in Rabat and IT Support Officers in Casablanca and Tangier on all IT related queries; Assessing and implementing IT training needs for all staff across the British Government network in Morocco;
Monitoring system performance and resolving IT problems with support from the London Help Desk and other IT stakeholders; and Ensuring the integrity of the system by reporting and investigating any potential breaches of security.
Assisting TMO and telephony section for all technical and telephony requests
Office Maintenance: 20%
Managing Office Maintenance contract and contractor: receive office work requests, inform technicians, follow progress and report any poor performance to Senior Management.
Office Machinery: Manage all office machinery maintenance.
Logistics: 15%
Act as Transport Senior Manager, supervise Transport officer for smooth running of office transport and logistics.
Other tasks: 5%
Hands on support for events.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills Required:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills, with very good attention to detail
Flexible, resilient under pressure and decisive with a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines.
Ability to travel occasionally (approximately 5% of the time)
Willingness to work additional hours as necessary.
Expected Qualifications:
Essential
Recognised professional qualification in IT or relevant IT experience.
Fluent in English, orally and in writing (IELTS level 7 or equivalent). This will be tested at interview.
Fluency in either French or Arabic.
Desirable
Professional experience in a managerial capacity including managing staff.
Background in delivering IT training courses.
The British Embassy offers a competitive remuneration package, gross salary is 19,359, benefits, a leave entitlement and training package. Specific training and mentoring for the role will be provided for the successful candidate. This may include training in London and the region. The successful candidate is expected to commence employment by 21 March 2011.
The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance.
